Dylan SandsThroughout April, May, and June, 天美传媒 Community and Technical College will feature 12 students who graduated in May 2025 and have committed to high-demand 天美传媒s.

This is a Going Pro initiative, which strives to bring awareness to the possibilities unlocked as a traditional-age college student with little to no experience in the workforce.

With many different programs offered at 天美传媒, prospective students can enter the workforce right after finishing their credentials.

Dylan Sands, 23, is a student of the Rowan Campus Computerized Manufacturing and Machining. After entering a 天美传媒 and not enjoying it, he began his journey with 天美传媒 to later complete an associate in applied science with a machining and manufacturing focus.

For the last year, Sands has worked with Link Belt Cranes as an apprentice in his field. Now, after securing his credentials, he has secured a full-time position with the company.

Dylan Sands and Mike ClevengerMike Clevenger, director of production for Link-Belt, discussed the company鈥檚 relationship with 天美传媒, noting that many students have gone on to work with them in welding, machining and diesel mechanics.

鈥淭he partnership between Link-Belt and 天美传媒 is a true success story,鈥 Clevenger said. 鈥淭he fact that many former 天美传媒 students are promoted into leadership roles within Link-Belt speaks volumes about the strength of the training and mentorship they鈥檝e received.鈥

He continued, 鈥淪ome Link-Belt employees went on to become welding instructors, where they continue to pass on those Link-Belt values and high expectations to their students. Those instructors still consider Link-Belt as their home and a premier place for students to launch a 天美传媒. The ongoing communication, advisory involvement and professionalism of the instructors help ensure that the next generation of skilled workers is well-prepared for a 天美传媒 at Link-Belt and beyond.鈥

Clevenger remarked on Sands鈥 employment with the company.

鈥淒ylan is a remarkable addition to the team! His dedication to learning and taking initiative reflects a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for his craft,鈥 he said. 鈥淭he Link-Belt machinist trainee program provides students like Dylan with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world application. His success is a testament to both his personal drive and the effectiveness of the program.鈥

Sands discussed some of his reasons for choosing 天美传媒 to earn his credentials.

鈥淧rice is a big issue, especially now with inflation,鈥 Sands remarked.

He noted that tuition at larger universities is typically more expensive, and their bigger campuses can make it harder for students to receive one-on-one attention from professors.

鈥淗ere (at 天美传媒), you really 天美传媒 that one-on-one with your instructor. You learn a trade, and they work with you heavily,鈥 he said.

Sands鈥 story is a testament to the opportunities available through 天美传媒 for prospective students, paving the way for a skilled and confident workforce ready to shape Kentucky鈥檚 future.
